Introduction to Guide and Support Devices

2025/03/03

Guide and support devices are the devices that ensure the correct entry and exit of rolled pieces through the die holes of the rolls, enabling the realization of rolling according to the required deformation conditions. The rationality of guide and support devices directly affects the product quality and production capacity of the rolling mill. Therefore, attention must be paid to the design of guide and support devices. According to statistics, more than half of the accidents in the process of steel bar rolling are caused by guide and support devices. The guide and support devices of medium and large-sized die rolling mills are mainly composed of cross beams, guide plates, and guide plate cross beams, which are fixed. The cross beams should have sufficient strength to withstand the impact of the rolled pieces when they enter or exit the die holes, ensuring that the cross beams do not deform or break. The cross beams should be easy to disassemble and install.

The guide plate is used to guide the entry and exit of rolled pieces into and out of the die holes. When the rolled piece enters the die hole, it is guided by the guide plate to be accurately fed in. When the rolled piece leaves the die hole after rolling, the guide plate guides it to smoothly exit without causing left-right bending. The support plate is used to ensure that the rolled piece is straightly exited from the die hole without bending or arching. The support plate is installed on the cross beam on the exit side.
